Going back to Middle Ages in Albi

When the Episcopal City of Albi in southern France was inscribed as one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in July 2010, we marked the city on our must-visit places’ list during summer vacation last year. Constructed from orange bricks with Gothic style, the city view and its buildings are merely impressive. Albi obtained its episcopal power following the Albigensian Crusade against the Cathar heretics in the 13th century (source: http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/1337)
