One morning in Wales

An invitation from a friend to do light walk in Wales at the end of summer time was an offer that can’t be missed. We left Bristol at 9 am, crossed the Severn Bridge which was covered by thick fog, heading towards Tintern. The weather was a little bit better when we started walking from the Old Station, Tintern, following the footpath line down to the field to the river and ended at the grassed picnic area on the other side of the Old Station, where we had a cup of milk tea and freshly baked scone. After the walk, we visited the ruins of Tintern Abbey by the River Wye, a Cistercian monastery founded in 1131 which has the most extensive ruins in Wales. The church was also the home for the monks of Normandy, before Henry VIII dissolved it in 1536 (Encarta. 2005).
